Scouting Report

SIZE:
Sam has good size for a 2022 Dual Threat QB at 6'0" 185 lbs. He shows good agility within the backfield, stepping up or moving laterally to create additional passing lanes. He shows good patience, waiting til the last minute for his receivers to break.
ACCURACY:
This is an area of strength for Sam, his throws are on target to his receivers, showing good timing and anticipation of their route running. When given enough space and time, his accuracy percentage goes way up. While on the run, he remains consistent on accuracy.
ARM STRENGTH:
He displays good velocity at the short and intermediate level. Throws made in between zone coverage within tight windows of space. Solid vertical passing game with throws made at long range.
RELEASE:
Sam throws with an over the top delivery, adding height to his throws with a high release point. He displays good throwing mechanics as well as consistency on his delivery. Displays good footwork on his dropbacks.
THROW ON RUN:
This is where Sam works best, on the run. He’s a very capable Dual Threat QB who can make big plays while on the go. Good quickness to the outside.
FOOTWORK:
A quick first step, does a nice job working his way through the defense while on the run. Can work to improve on his speed, with the ability to break away from defenders.
POISE:
Able to work around traffic while remaining clam under pressure. A confident QB who's able to transition smoothly from a Pocket Passer to a Dual Threat.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very comfortable in the backfield, this is where he can get very creative. With the ability to throw or run on any given play, that spells bad news for defenses.
DECISION MAKING:
Sam makes plays at high percentages, improving his accuracy. Very decisive upon release, confident in his ability to get to his receivers. He's a quick thinker able to make calls on the fly.
TOUCH:
Another strength for Sam. Displays a soft touch at short and intermediate range. Solid trajectory at long range throws.
